The early history of the Contax Camera

Zeiss Contax I Rangefinder 1932-1936Portia receives a camera as a Christmas Gift in 1931, so I had to do some research into what brands would have been available at the time. The Contax seems to fit the bill nicely.

Also, there is some accompanying data about the issues with the shutter this model was known to have on this website.

  1. Research well done. Also, I’m curious as to how you linked with your Pinterest board. Thus far I’ve been unable to discover how to do so. Perhaps it’s the theme I use? Anyway, I’d long thought about doing so and when I saw how well you’d linked them I was inspired to finally create a board of my own. I’d thought it’d be a widget, but I don’t seem to have one. Thanks.

    1. Ah, it’s not a widget! I screen capped my board as it displayed on Pinterest, saved it as a Jpg, uploaded it into my media here, and then created a simple image/link widget for WordPress that links to my Pinterest. Let me know when you’re set up and I’ll follow you on Pinterest!

      1. Thank you for the help! Wow, I wouldn’t have begun to think of all that. My site and Ontyre board are in place. I just have to take the steps you did to create the link. I’m still shaking my head at how clever that all was. 😀

      2. Thank you, thank you, thank you! My cats are terrified because I’m cackling and waving my arms, and that’s because I went ahead and tried it and it worked (after a little trial and error). Thanks again.
